MOE Kindergarten — The Most Affordable Option
If you're looking for budget-friendly preschool, MOE Kindergartens (MKs) are hard to beat. For Singapore Citizens, the full-day programme (MK kindergarten session + KCare before/after-school care) is just $160 per month after the basic subsidy. The MK kindergarten session alone (without KCare) costs even less.
MKs follow the Nurturing Early Learners (NEL) curriculum and are located inside primary school compounds — super convenient if you have older kids at the same school. The catch? Waiting lists can be long, so register early during the annual intake period.
Anchor Operators — Quality Care at Capped Fees
Anchor Operators like NTUC First Campus, My First Skool, PCF Sparkletots, and SKOOL are ECDA-designated centres with fee caps:
• Full-day childcare: capped at $720/month before subsidy
• After Basic Subsidy and other support: roughly $150/month
• After Additional Subsidy (lower-income): as low as $3–$5/month
These centres must offer at least half their places to non-affiliated families. So even if you're not a PCF or NTUC member, you can still get a spot.
Partner Operators — More Choice, Still Affordable
Partner Operators are independent preschools that work with ECDA to offer capped fees while keeping curriculum flexibility. Full-day fees are capped at $800/month before subsidy. After the Basic Subsidy, you're looking at roughly $200–$400 per month.
The trade-off? More curriculum variety. You'll find Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and play-based programmes at Partner Operators — great if you want something different from the standard curriculum while still keeping fees reasonable.
Private Preschools — Maximum Choice, Higher Price Tag
If you're looking for the widest range of curriculum options, private preschools offer the most choice. Fees range from about $800 to over $2,500 per month:
• Premium international preschools (EtonHouse, White Lodge, Pat's Schoolhouse): $1,800–$2,500+
• Mid-range private centres (MapleBear, Carpe Diem, Shaws): $1,000–$1,800
• Other licensed private centres: $800–$1,500
Private preschools often offer specialised curricula like IB PYP, Montessori, Waldorf, or bilingual immersion. They're not subject to ECDA fee caps, but many still qualify for the Basic Subsidy if they're ECDA-licensed. Always check with the centre directly.
